E60 550i Dyno w/ AFE, w/ stock, w/ stock + RPi

Hey guys. I want to thank iceman for letting me dyno his car. I got a chance to run the car pretty hard today (18 back to back to back runs).

What type of dyno are you running on? Dynojet usually reads significantly
higher than a dynojet (i.e. load bearing vs intertial measurments).
Also, on top of this there are other factors such as operator, atmospheric
conditions, perhaps even calibration issues. Yes, there are SAE correction
factors applied to help reduce variations BUT this can only account for
pressure, temperature, and some assumed mechanical efficiencys. This
cannot account for what the ECU does to adapt to "harsher" environments.
I feel that if you want the best comparison against another posted dyno/car
you need to run on the same dyno, same day, same operator, and with the
minimum amount of time in between runs.
It sounds bleak but it's what I believe to be necessary. I've personally grown
to accept that dynos are best for before/after testing of mods. If you use it
for anything else you'll find that yourself going crazy (trust me, I've been there).

Thanks Tony. This whole AFE thing has been pretty "entertaining". I
feel bad for the guys who feel cheated but these are the things we
must face when modding. Not everything works out. Although a
small consolation I guess be thankful that this mod was only a few
hundred dollars vs a few thousand.
