Sounds good. How do you switch to the TV tuner via the idrive? Do you have to overide all the idrive functions to watch TV or will idrive still be working?

Hi
All switching is done via remote control.
Thanks Dominic

It probably overrides the screen. Idrive is still active, but you can't see it, since the monitor (CID) is used by the module. To see what's going on with idrive you'd need to switch the module off, I guess...

This is an update on how my install went so far. I received the unit today (3-4-05, on time). Install was pretty straight forward, got power from the passenger side power outlet, installed the unit in the cd changer slot like stoogefan. Turned everything on, and I was able to get to the tv tuner area.. however I wasn't able to get a audio from the fm modulator (I tired changing the fm modulator settings), very very low with alot of scatic, so I tired connected a av source directly to it, however the fm modulator seems to be stuck on tv tuner audio out, I have no idea how to change this. Also the numbers on the remote do not do anything. Now, when I turn on the car it shows the idrive screen up for a sec, (partial screen or full, its random now), then it shuts down the screen (either off or the screen turns white and then it turns off), I'm lost on what do to, I have to call up Navwithtv tommorow when they are open, to see if there is anything I can do.

I wanted to report back that I got the navwithtv.com system installed. I love it. I also want to say thanks to e60 forum member onefat99 for doing the install. Also congrats to him on his new baby. His partner had to finish the install as his wife went into labor today. I highly recommend this system. They hooked up the video via DVD player which is mounted in the CD changer compartment in the back of the glovebox. You have to order an antenna to get TV tuner functionality, so I am not able to comment on that functionality. I have the aux input so I cannot comment on the sound quality from the FM modulator. The system is very clean, looks factory installed. Overall I give it two thumbs up.

I think that's the first time those words were uttered here where the "baby" was actually a baby -- not a car...

Congrats onefat99!

Thank you redondoman, Sorry but my wife went into labor Friday morning. So a couple of hours later 5:15pm to be exact. My baby boy was born 7 pounds 15 ounces. I'm a very happy guy! My installer informed me that everything went well. Thanks again redondoman for your business!
