Also this is for kreate i believe this module allows any video input into the screen. So you can install a tv tuner that has 2 or 3 inputs. Then use them to run a dvd player , playstation ect...

Hello everyone... I just purchased my 530 today. I will attempt putting my Alpine Navigation on the Factory Monitor. I do not have the Factory Navigation.

Has anyone investigated this issue further?

What is the best / most cost effective solution to put video on the factory display?

Thanks for all your help.

This is an amazing forum and I am very glad it is available.

PS my username should have been kflash.com hahaha

Seems like you should be able to do it. Buy why not sell the Alpine unit and put in the BMW navigation $1800 option? This way you can use the I-drive wheel with the BMW nav. It would seem according to all the post I have read the best most cost effective way to add video is the $499 navwithtv option.

Just curious. Does adding the DVD module void the BMW warranty in any way?

Well, I think it doesn't.
But you would need to go to court in case something happens, because BMW will ALLWAYS say the warranty is voided if you do ANY kind of unauthorized (by BMW) mod...

According to dvdwithnav it does not void the warranty. There is no cutting of wires, the system is plug and play. It should be no different than plugging something into the cigarette lighter, installing a radar detector / aftermarket subwoofer, etc.

What if you just unplugg it before bringing it into the dealer... they wont know what was there before.. unless the ECU logs it.
