Does anyone know for sure if the iPod adaptor carries over the gapless playback functionality of the latest iPods? Do mixsets play gaplessly through the iDrive?

I do not know the answer to that, but it would be a VERY important feature for me since I listen to house music.

I know..... I have the install scheduled for this Wed., but i'm not going to do it unless you can truly listen to a mix set through iDrive without gaps...

Someone please let us know.

Thanks.

I haven't been able to play my pink floyd yet to see if gapless works. It takes me an hour just to get to the "P" in my artist list. this has to be the slowest interface I have ever worked with.

I would just set up a playlist with your Pink Floyd, gapless album in it and then check it.

Can someone with a house music mix cd that plays gaplessly on their iTunes as well as their video iPod set up that album in a playlist and check it through the iDrive to see if it also plays back gaplessly there?

Thanks...

I just 'discovered' that playlist are absolutely the way to go with the iDrive integration. The start up time for playlist is a second or two whereas any other selection choice is 3-4 minutes. Not sure why this is the case but it is, so I highly recommend exclusively using playlist.

Ok, so far 1 yay on the gapless playback?

Anyone else care to comment?

Also, do you think the iPhone will be compatible with the BMW iPod adaptor?

BTW - If you want some good progressive house music, download my most recent set by Right Clicking Here, and Save Target As... then save it to your computer. It's a 3+ hour set, so the file is big.

Downloading now.

John, if you dig old skool Florida funky breaks, I can hook you up with a sweet mix I spun a few years back. Let me know!
