My Ride: 2006 550i, Black/Black, every option except HUD
I've been that way (switching for the latest and greatest) since my first car, a 1962 British Ford Cortina. Since then I've owned (never leased, gotta have the pink slip for some reason) practically every car I've ever wanted to own (with the exception of a Ferrari). Now for some reason, I am content. Maybe it's age, or maybe it's just being happy with what I have now. Then again, this may be just a phase that I'll grow out of in a year or two.

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.
No it doesn't, and if it does I just tell myself that the trade-in value once I drove it off the lot is a REALLY big hit.
I spent a good 6 months before I purhcased and really thought things out. I do regret not having hud and nav, but it was a cost consideration at the time - so I know what you mean.
I did have a little of that when I heard they upgraded the 4.4l to the 4.8l - but thats the breaks.
I do have the mod itch which will never go away and I am satisfying my cravings slowly.
It sounds like you are considering a completely different car - wagon???

Every time the same story. As soon as I get a new car, I start to plan for all possible mods, improvements and the like; so, to say, I play with the new toy.
But after few months (sooner or later, it depends on the degree of satsfaction with the car) I start to play with the idea to switch to a new car. If I'm happy with the current one (and I' m really hapy with my E60) I start to plan to switch to a new version of the same car, equipped with all the stuff for some reason now I miss ( why didn't I order the comfort seats? Only heaven knows), to that colour combo that for some reason now seems sooooo much better than mine, with those rims sooooo cool and so on.
So, to make a long story short, I have already started to visit my dealer to ask quotations and all the possible options for a new car. The official excuse to my wife is that, since she would like to switch to a smaller city car, we should need a more practical family car; therefore, we NEED to switch to a superequipped E61, there is no other choice.

I usually buy cars for the long haul. I have been quite satisfied with my decisions which enables me to keep the cars for > 5 yrs.
