not sure if the stock shock will make it drop less (i don't think so)
but if it's me i will just get the koni fsd kit which includes the eibach springs
install itself is probably $200+ so i would do the shock as well for add'l $300
the koni fsd should be a great deal better than our stock shocks
if i don't have the sachs kit already i will definitely go that route, a complete kit for less than $600 is really a great deal.
WHAT?! Koni FSDs + Eibach Pro springs is only 600USD??!! Then I was ripped off.. Paid 58000 baht which is 1870USD I know the exchange rate is so crappy right now, but still, I paid almost triple..

525iSE you have to keep in mind that there is cost of bringing in the stuff from Thailand and the incoming duty of the parts and also people who buy BMW's in Thailand can afford the premium

i think the special price only applies to the 525i (probably 530i too). i guess they figure owners of the V8 have more $$ to spare than us I6 owners =D
if you set your car to 525i/530i you should see the lowered price

It seems the part numbers for the 525i/530i kit and the 550i kit are different

I know the springs are different (from my experience of putting V8 Eibach's on my I6 car....long story), but there is a decent chance the shocks are common. It would be worth doing a little research for you V8 guys. If so you could buy the package at the lower price, then buy V8 Pro-kit springs by themselves, and then resell the I6 springs.

update where your location is. Depending on the area, for example, in Southern California, it cost about 200-250 for install
