Did the technician say how long the remapping would take? I'm assuming you would get this thing back tomorrow or (depending on how close they are to you) later in the day.

Right, this was my understanding. Esentially, all they need is a laptop with the correct cables.

Yep that is all they need

They take your ecu out of your car , then download the original mapping into the laptop.
This is then emailed to head office who keep this on file .
They remap your original data to acheive the best outcome and email it back to the engineer who uploads this into your ecu and then whoosha what a difference

PS It took him around an hour from start to finish

Red face

Well i know everyone has been wondering what happened with the remap. Well what started as a simple remap..turned into alittle more work then i and DMS thought. My car is 07/03 production and has a stock 231hp... they told me they can do an easy read then determine the max hp and torque they could give me. The guy who was doing my remap was not a BMW man. He is a very smart guy but wanted the man guy who wrote the program from DMS to complete my remap. Which i felt would be the best result anyway for me and others here. He is flying in this weekend to complete my car and discuss the options for a stage 2 software and getting the group rate settle. So far i have 6 members that are on my lidt for the group e60 discount. Those that PM'd me and want this done need to email me their address make of car model and production date along with the last 6 on the Vin. With this info I will inreturn give you the shippinginfo with a paid Fed ex account to ship to DMS in ILL. Once i have the cars info from everyone i will send the information that DMS is forwarding me with to all of you and hand over the Members info to the DMS rep and they will contact you before you ship... to finalise the terms...

email info to Moffitts61604@sbcglobal.net

Had my 645ci chipped by Wetterauer, they claimed 358hp-495Nm. I did not dyno my car so I'm not sure I can prove their claim. But my car sure feels more torquier and rev faster too. I think it is well worth the upgrade . I do not have the luxury of having someone doing the upgrade in my house, as I have to ship my DME unit all the way to Koblenz, Germany. I'm sure you will feel there is better performance with this upgrade.

Did you ask DMS if the the ECU upgrade is at risk of being overwrite during a CIP upgrade from the BMW service?

[/quote] yes the claim it will not over ride and if it does they are 10 mins from my house so i can have them rewrite if needed. I have to say the car with the remap only is alot quicker. I have driven a 06 530i and my 04 and my friend who has the 06 and we both said mine pulled harder and felt more aggressive with the remap. I like the car alot better with the remap added and with the super charger it feels like a whole new car finally pull ahead of 545's now.
