I'm having the same problem with mine.. didnt use tape used an adhesive a local body shop gave me..going to attempt to remove this weekend and reinstall hopefully it wont
my paint up.. I also caught a little punk kid trying to take it off the other night. My motion lights went off and when i looked out the window i saw someone on my drive behind my car. My dad ran out and the kid took off in another car....ps my neighbor called the police. Apparantly the kid broke into their car and stole their radar detector, sirius, ipod etc... I guess my car was next.... So i dont know if that has something to do with the corner lifting or it was loose from the adhesive...

Just had a problem with my ACS roof spoiler yesterday and it ended up being because I did not clean the area well enough. I also didn't use double side tape the second time around, I went straight for the 3m goo stuff, its what they use to attached the windshield to the car, its not going anywhere.

Bud, you're supposed to screw it on, too.
You know the lip that attaches to the side fender? You need to put 2 screws into that wheel well on each side. Then you don't have to give a damn about the tape failing. Also, don't use tape. The part in the center you can put some epoxy and glue it to the middle of the OEM bumper and call it a day.

+1 for the glue. also while the glue dries, tape the spoiler down from the top of the trunk to the end of the trunk to hold the spoiler in place while the glue dries.

Screws are one way to install a rear spoiler but I would not want to put holes in the car. Epoxy is more than sufficient to form a strong bond if tape is not enough given that the ACS spoiler weighs next to nothing.
+1000 If you screw it down you are truly screwed. DO NOT put more holes in your car than it had when you bought it.

did you remove any wax from the area first? it's not the heat, I have had spoilers attached to my cars with that 3m tape for at least 4 years each and never had a problem with them coming loose, I live here in Miami as well...
I did, I used dish detergent

Is this, then, a pretty common issue? Sorry to hear about your spoiler, OP
Stan actually suggested - and I don't know how this could be done IRL - to heat up the spoiler prior to application so that the plastic compounds its made of would bend to the shape of the trunk and then cool down and adhere to the shape perfectly. But again, I'm not sure this is even doable - let alone, the right thing to do...
