Can anyone explain where and how to remove your ECU? Is there a DIY somewhere?

It is explained to you when you call in to confirm your order.

Tools needed: a 13mm socket and a flathead screwdriver.

Quk, can you provide a detail DIY to remove the ECU since you have done it?

just to correct you're talking about the speed innovation remap not eurorev. sorry i'm in IT and a stickler for helping out the search engines with proper keywords.

Hello
I just bought a CPO 2006 530i, am new to the modern era of BMW's (owned 2002s back in the 70s-80s) and just came across the E60.net web site. Saw the discussion on reflashing the ECU on a 545. Many questions coming, appreciate the help

Any idea the gains that would be made on my 530?
How would this affect my BMW CPO warranty?
What kind of warranty comes on the reflash?
Any day to day drive-ability problems?
I see you are in Inglewood (I am up in Santa Clarita) - How long is the car down for?
Can it be done while I wait?
And bottom line - What is the cost of the upgrade? Is there any BMW Car Club discount?

Thanks again for the help.

Hi Gary

Typical gains for your 530 is about 13-15 HP, 15-17 TQ, depending on your engine mods (i.e. free flow exhaust, intake...). This does not affect your warranty unless you tell your dealer that you got an aftermarket reflash (they normally do not detect it). If the dealer does flashes your ECU, you can bring the ECU back with a BMW service report indicating that BMW did do a software update and we will reprogram your ECU... FREE!!

You can wait at our shop, ECU remaps take about 1 hr max.

The cost for the 530 is $455 (no tax). Sorry there is no BMW discount. We already given a 30% discount off retail price and is a very competitive price versus the competitors.

PM me for more details.
