Sorry man, BMW currently does not offer extended warranty for the M5.
So after 50k miles everyone with an M5 is on there own?

How much will the S2 package be? My lease is up in 10 months, my buy out is 42,233.00.. For about 10000.00 more I will be able to pick up same year M5 with same miles.. So I think that will be a better option over keeping my car and using Dinan...
Specially considering resale value. Dinan is nice but will be an extrodinary buyer (more than m5) who will understand the value.

I think there are some third party companies that do offer an extended warranty for the M5 like GE but not BMW. I think I've also read (but not 100% sure) that there are an ocassional DEALER or so that would offer it but it's not from BMW.

For the 545, they show a peak gain of 29hp from throttle body, intake, exhaust and software. I don't think that's too unrealistic considering other tuners claim over 20hp just from software alone.
It definately feels realistic to me and I've yet to install my Supersprint.

What are the prices like from Dinan ? 2k or something ?

BMW leaves little on the table with the V8. Why do they leave so much on the table with the TT, I wonder. For a couple grand BMW would have a car that outperforms the compitition by a significant margin in the same class.

The usual reason that so much is left on the table with FI cars is because advancing the timing and leaning out the mixture on a FI car to get more out of it off the showroom floor is more risky than doing so on a naturally aspirated engine. One tank of bad gas, some extra cold air in the intake charge, or the wrong CAI can mean a lean mixture. Under boost, that means extra heat, melted pistons, etc. You can safely lean out a NA motor from the factory with less risk because the engine does not face the added stress of boost. So, my guess is BMW is taking the usual manufacturing course of playing it safe. A great example of this are supercharged Mustang Cobras, or the Supras of old. Throw some timing, fuel, and boost at those factory cars with an uncorked exhaust/intake and you are looking at hundreds of hp left on the table before touching the internals. Time will tell how much BMW left on the table with the 535. I am sure the guys who keep modding the TT will show us where the line is once a few pistons are melted and motors blown.

Thanks MadTown. Makes sense. Mitigated risk = controlled warranty costs.
