Thumbs up

I lowered my car today with H&R Sport springs, but noticed that the "line of light" that the xenons create at night had dropped to about 20 yards in front of my car. I think that lowering the car effected the light height, which makes sense. Unfortunately, I can now only see 20 yards ahead of me which isn't good when I'm trying to avoid potholes.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? It's not a big deal, as I can just reangle the headlights, but was curious if this is a common occurrence when it comes to lowering...

Anyone?

It does, that's what's so crazy. I'm not sure why they're pointing down so much. They still turn to the side when I make sharp turns, but they didn't readjust when the car got lowered. Any ideas on what to do? Since I swapped my own AIB's, I know how to play with the whole headlight system. It's not hard to loosen the screws, but it's just a pain.

I gotta tell you that my car is significantly lower than it used to be. I'd say 2 inches is about right. I'm wondering if the xi doesn't account for that much of a change in angle and ride height when it comes to the lights? Although, adaptive lights are adaptive lights, right? Or is it just to a certain degree. Maybe H&R did all their testing during the day and didn't account for this???

CORRECTOMUNDO AW!

Did this happen to anyone else that has lowered their car significantly? Has anyone that has done RACE springs on their car, noticed this? (I'm thinking that with the drop that Race Springs offer, this is more in line with how much height I lost as well).

Again, no big deal to readjust if I have to, but I'm just wondering if this is normal...

I just had my lights adjusted last week. They needed to replace the right xenon. They never turned before now they do but only to the right side, is this normal? Also now it seems I can only see 20 yards ahead and there is a dark spot where the right and left lights meet on the road.

Not that I know of. It's a 545i with the sports suspension.

Do the xenon only turn for right hand turn or should hey turn for lefts also? When I am in the driveway, when the turn the steering to the right th light also turn, however they do not turn towards the left if I turn the wheel to the left. Is this normal?

cman,
My headlights seem fine, but then again I'm not as anal as you.

bad bimr,
the left headlight is working as designed. It will turn to the left while you're in motion. At rest, it won't have the same range of motion. The primary reason is not to blind oncoming traffic when coming out of a parallel park. It's the reverse for UK folks. Someone here mentioned this a while back.
