Here's the update, I have spoken to Paul at M Style in Essex today and I have been to my dealer and battered the parts manager over the head
until he gave me the best deal.
The two options are:
M Style - Essex
2 sets-----------5 Sets
?1645.00----?1595.00 - These prices are for Hankook or similar tyres
?1795.00----?1765.00 - These prices are for Continental tyres.
The above prices are including free fitting at M Style or can be delivered for an additional ?30 - 40
UK BMW Dealer
The price is not quantity dependant.
?1835.00 - This prices is based on direct supply from BMW, therefore tyres cannot be specified however should be Continental as this is all that has been fitted to this style in the UK according to dealer.
The above price is available for collection from Dealer (Cheshire) or can be delivered for an additional ?30 - 40
ALL PRICES QUOTED ARE EXCLUDING VAT, FOR SOME REASON THE MOTOR TRADE QUOTES EVERYTHING EX VAT
The only other option appears to be importing them from salesafter.de. They are quoting 2155 euro (?1500) including continental tyres, now on the face of it this seem the cheapest option even when you add approx 100 euro (?70) delivery to the UK.
My two concerns are 1) What happen when they arrive at customs in the UK even though we have paid German VAT will we have to pay UK VAT as well and also import tax (Approx 22% combined) I am not well enough informed on this subject so would welcome some advise. Paul at M Style was saying we would get charged as he does when he imports them. 2) If there is a warranty issue it would be a pain and expensive to start shipping things back to Germany.
Sorry for the long post, but anybody interested let me know your thoughts, I want to make a decision in the next week as to where I am going to order from.

Totally agree, if imported from the EU you will not pay anything other than shipping, you have already paid EU tax from the county of origin. You can choose not to pay tax and then you get billed by your home country, in a country where tax is only 6% this may be worth doing, in a country where tax is 35% it definitely is not if buying from Germany (16% tax).
Why do people want Continetal tyres though???!!!!
every forum you read the guys moan as much about the SportContacts as we do run flats, it is usually the first thing everyone ditches for Pilot Sports or Eagle GS-D3's.
The sport Contacts are horrible!! Unless the version 3 has radically changed I would prefer the Hankook or similar.

You've brought this up before Gizze, I have had no trouble at all with Conti's, changed from pilot sports.
My 19s are on factory supplied conti's and seem fine to me. What's the issue?
