that is correct. the head unit CD drive can play MP3s. the changer inexplicably can NOT. your head unit is programmed correctly, so my next step would be to check the dip switches (use the settings for the navigation setup, not the non-text capable setup as shown on the dension install instructions) and you should be fine (provided of course you're using the dension in the correct mode.)

 

Well, my car was in the dealership for about 10 days trying to resolve this problem. In the end they gave it back to me saying they couldn't fix it. Thankfully Michael from Method Sound told me to try the E90 dip switch settings and it worked like a charm. I certainly wouldn't have thought to try that. I think this might have worked because they replaced part of my computer as part of a fix for a broken seat heater.
