Hi guys, this isn't a repost as such, just more info on existing problem. I posted a help query a few days ago and was pointed in the right direction, thanks again blast.
I've just got newer problems, and hope you good people will cut me some slack, because this is another Dension post.
I've just re-installed my GW51MO2 to my e60, (with pro nav, just to let you know what system is installed). Car build date 27/09/05

1, I connected the Dension using installation type 2a, my ipod plays, can't see track names tho, so guessing that means I'm not mp3 enabled, right?

2, Re-read the instructions and realised that install type 1 looked like that suited my car, because that set up is for multiple CD changers and single cd changers, which my car has.
But when I go to that set up, the ipod wont play, I've checked the dipswitch's are in correct settings for both types of install.
So I'm not sure which install I should be using??

Finally, I've reset the Dension thru aux box (blue light showing in solid white switch mode) and it comes up on ipod screen Audi V2.11. ( I bought unit off ebay)
I could really use some help here, these is driving me nuts!!!!!

Did your car have the mp3 to begin with?

No Bruce, well not that I know of, but when I did type 2a install its showing mpg disc on idrive?

the only install the E60 supports is 2a if you have a changer or 3b if you have prewiring but no changer. make sure the dip switches are set 1,2 on, the rest off if you have a changer.

you will not get names on the screen until you get the mp3 coding done at the dealer. you might also want to perform an update to 2.16 following the instructions here:
Dension site, firmware 2.16 for the GW500 MOST
but again, without the mp3 coding nothing will change on the screen.

Either have MP3 enable or get the iPod retrofit coding done ... I think some member(s) couldn't play MP3 of the in-dash CD player but got iPod retrofit coded and their GW500 display text the way it should be.

Thanks for input guy's, I'm going to change set up to 2a and update fw to latest version, also hoping to get mp3 enabeled this weekend. I'll update after
