But I recently heard that Apple had locked the TV Out feature, does the Dension turn that back on?
Not the IVE1000 but the next IVE generation will unlock TV Out on newer iPods.

how come nothing was showing on the idrive for mine? also the CDC kept playing the CDs in it anyways. If i connect the optic cables wrong, then there wouldn't be any sound right?
What you need to do is to flip the switch to solid white dot on the cable that has RCA jacks. It cannot be changed via i-Drive menu.

Got mine installed just a few minutes ago. It works great, but I need to wait for iPod Classic cable from Dension to complete installation. Right now, the wiring is like a rat nest.

Mine works great too, Fred...like i told you, go get the AV Extender for iPod video capability...it's the coolest gadget i've ever installed. it makes playing video on the screen like it's built in the idrive sytem...you can ff, rew, change from a movie to another by the press of your steering wheel button/ idrive knob...(just make sure you've managed your playlist properly.)

Since i'm on iPod 5G with 60GB, everything works great...can you imagine having up to 30 full movies on your car without bringing out discs back and forth (even my dvd changer can fit 8 discs only...) and lots and lots of songs...

Now Fred, try the BTA1000...it's also not that expensive...you'll be impressed by the sound quality output produced from your low bitrate songs in your phone/ bluetooth capable gadgets...(i'm on WM6 O2 Atom Life...)it's a really great add-on too...and on top of that, instead of one phone linked to the car, you can have 2 at the same time ...(one on your OEM BMW ULF and the other via Dension BTA1000)

Latest update : if you guys plan to add on dension bluetooth access, go with their latest hardware, Dension BTA1500...it has extra functions with phone conectivity e.g. Phonebook capability + Missed Calls + Recieved Calls which isn't present in BTA1000...

I have the bleeding edge technology iPod aka Classic version That's why I need to wait for new cradle/cable from Dension for this iPod Classic.

AVE1000 is on its way
Where do you hide your Dension unit?

Fred, Do you have one of the newer iPOD where the TV Out has been locked? If so then buying the IVE1000 will not be much use.

You'll have to talk to me about these issues now, I bought his unit. And received it today, I sure hope its not a defective piece. Is there a better firmware available for this that I should use rather than the one available on the Dension website?
The newest FW, v2.10 is just released.
Check Dension site:
