Hi Guys, I have got a 2004 BMW 525i and i have been trying to install the Dension Gateway, the first time i install it, it work fine.I used the i drive to chose the tracks i.e Forward or Backwards and since then i couldnt get it to work.i do have a cdc, when i switch back to valet mode the cdc work fine but when switch back to dension, it never works

I was told i need to retrofit mp3 and firmware update which cost me almost £350, i did that but still no joy but when i plug in the ipod to the dension, it charges fine and when i press the reset button i see dension come up on the ipod screen and the dip setting is correct 1 and 2 up and the rest all down......

Can someone please help me, i am not ready to surrender without a fight........

 

(Update) i was told after firmware update, the car needs to shut down for 1 hour, before everything is active......is that true

 

If you could see the track names then MP3 was already coded?

I would suggest you take the Dension out, disconnect all the connections, and recheck the connections when you refit it...

Can you see the Dension menu's when you select CD5 or CD 6 in the idrive?
