I de-badged my white e60 2 years after the car was new and you can still see a very faint outline of where the numbers were. My wife thinks I'm nuts (what else is new?) but I can still see it at certain angles.

I removed mine a while back. And it left the outline which was kind of annoying all the carwashes didn't get rid of it. Then finally when I got my porter cable I buffed the trunk and it got rid of it completely.

I want to debadge but the car is 3 years old. I was wondering if after I remove the numbers if its going to leave a shadow/outline of the numbers. The color is Jet Black. If it does, I'll keep the badge.

It won't. My car was a 2004 and I took mine off, used some goo-gone to get the sticky stuff off and it was perfectly clear. No trace of numbers.
