dealer said not to change trans fluid with 70k.

The issue is with the automatics, I don't think they even have drain plugs, you have to drop the pan or pump it out and the process involves making sure the fluid is a specific temperature... weird. Like I said my dealer and Turner wouldn't touch it. I think fluids should be changed but my CPO covers the tranny to 100k so I'm not going to jeopardize the warranty by messing with the fluid if BMW insists I don't touch it. I don't plan on owning the car past 100k miles, I know I'll want something else long before then.

The tranny oil pan does have a drain plug. You can remove the under covers and see for yourself. The fluid fill plug is on the side of the tranny. Since you are not going to keep the car for more than 100k and your CPO cover tranny to 100k. You don't care about the tranny fluid change at all. For person like me, want to keep the car as long as possible, tranny fluid change is necessary. No such tranny fluid is "lifetime".

I changed it myself. Check the diy sub-forum. Other members also did it themselves and some had garage to do it.
