The most obvious difference is that the ring around the outside light glows and that the lights are brighter. If you see a new 5 or 3 and X5 they all have the same light feature that I am talking about.

still not sure what you mean. the new 5/3/x5 have newly designed headlights. the rings are very bright (especially the inner rings) and therefore can be used as drl. i think every newer vehicles from bmw will have the standard drl "rings". the pre-lci cars do have the rings but not used for standard drl. the rings are very dim compared to the brightness of current lci cars.

I think I'll just wait until BMW produces an upgraded version. Someone here believes its in the works. Thanks
