Hey everyone,
Just curious if this has ever happened to anyone.

I was at RogerJ's place today trying to get my turn signals and new HID bulbs in.

Long story short, My projector says D2S, but the original bulbs inside of them are D1S. I Have no idea how/why it's setup like that.

Theories anyone?

Your car should be a D2S bulb, are you sure it was D1S. The 05 cars came with D2S from the factory, BMW didn't make this transition until the facelift models I believe.

Actually, I had D2S on my 2004 530i.

I have Euroheadlights, which have D1S bulbs. And the outside of the headlight also says d2s too.

A lot of people have run into this problem and it car vary on the year of the car and region.

The best way to tell what light you have is to take it out and look at it.

Also the label on the Headlight outside by the projector headlight that says D2S, doesn't always mean you have D2S. gotta love BMW and their labeling.

Yeah, I took out my bulbs with RogerJ, and that's what it turned out to be.

D1S bulbs in a D2S projector. It's rather quite annoying.
Now I gotta find some really bright D1S bulbs.

That's very weird! Guess BMW expects dealers to replace the bulbs so they don't bother with correct labeling to make it easy.

ShadeZerO, we just received a shipment of 6000k and 8000k D1S if you need a set.
