csl trunk carbon fiber

hello, everyone I was thinking about buying a carbon fiber trunk csl type, but i don't want carbon fiber can I paint it. i could take the clear coat off and then have somebody paint it or do they have a csl trunk that is not carbon fiber, simply just primed. need some advice and help. thanks for the comments and needed advice. I've seen some really nice e46's with the carbon csl trunks and they painted them and just left some of the carbon exposed and it looked amazing
