Have a 2007 535d E61 LCI and wonder whether possible to retrofit the Stop & Go cruise control (Tempomat)? Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm looking for a car in Germany now and keep in mind if this function will be missing to add it myself. It seems not so hard. On ebay you can find radar main and 2 additional things (like mini-sensors) for something else.

Is there any person who has done this retrofit?

I dont recall hearing of anyone doing this retrofit. That being said, someone always has to be first - right? Anyway, keep in mind for a retrofit like this that you will need a cooperative dealer or programmer to assist you, as you need to have a modified "vehicle order" that basically tells your car that it has this function when it's being programmed...

It can be done and I will do it.
You need camera + sensors + brake hoses + something else.

Have you done it? What was the price for it in total?

Forum member Benand has done this and it`s not as easy as you all think it is, theres no official retrofit for it so getting it coded will have to be done by your self, the dealers wont have a clue.

Yes, and keep in mind he has retrofit the 1st gen ACC, same as I am going to do on my 2004. It is because until 09/2005 the cars had different CAN and powertrain bus interfaces, so a newer sensor might not understand the messages on the bus.
For a 2007 car you need ACC2 (the radar head + short range sensors behind the bumper), you probably do not need the brake hoses changed as you already have DSC8Plus with built in pressure sensors. It is definitely some work behind, building the wiring looms, identifying where to tap into bus wires, doing the final coding.
Also when you buy a used sensor they are sometimes offered without the holder. To adjust it within the holder the dealer needs laser guided equipment that needs to be ordered from a central depot and this adjustment is charged $$$.
If you want to install it clean, you need to dismantle half of the car, let alone the power has to be drawn from the rear junction box.
