CPT 9000 not available for '05 E60?
#1
Hi Guys-
First time post.
My ED '05 E60 545 is somewhere between Hueneme and the VPC -- and just now my dealer is telling me that the CPT 9000 is not compatible with the 2005 MY.
I think he's full of crap, but could someone verify this for me? If yes, what are all the parts I will need - I want to install the Verizon CDMA version?
Please don't tell me how wonderful Bluetooth is -- I'm not interested.
Thanks,
-Erik

My Ride: '05 545i, silver gray, black leather with anthracite maple wood, sport package, premium sound, navigation, cold weather package, electric rear sunshade, folding rear seat, satellite radio prep, PIAA 4150K fogs, red rear reflectors, hardwired Valentine One
Welcome!
My dealer told me they could install the eject box needed for the CPT9000 & program the car to recognize it, and that my Motorola V60i (non-BMW model) would work. He also said that once they programmed the car to recognize the hardwired phone, the bluetooth capability would be disabled (and need to be reactivated if I wanted to use bluetooth at a later point).
This thread has several good pdf files with info, including one with the installation instructions for the CPT9000 in a E60, so I think your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about:
