So just spray the MAF with that cleaner and put it back in without drying it?
I will do this today

I think it would better if you let him to dry and then install it again. Please write about your feelings after cleaning. If it will be worth , i will do taht too

it drys instantly. Kind of like alcohol wipes on your hands only 10 times faster. You spray it and 5 seconds later it is evaporated so no need to dry it for more than 30 seconds or so. Wipe all excess around the housing with a little towel if there is any and just make sure not to touch the wires with anything. easy

The MAF can also be cleaned with a generic electronics [spray] cleaner or 99% isopropyl alcohol. If you get any cleaner on the seals, be sure to lube them with vaseline?.

Ok so after spending about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get the damn screws off of the MAF housing I can safely say I want to kill the person who invented those "security" screws.

So I finally got them out with pliers and got to spraying the sensor down. My car only has 32k miles on it but you can tell the difference.
Acceleration is much more direct and crisp. And the idle is also smoother.

It was definitely worth it.

Dude you dont need a DIY. You just take the regular screw driver or the star screw driver that a lot of bmw screws use, pop the hood, unscrew the blatently obvious MAF from the airbox. Pick it up with your fingers, put a towel beneath and spray it 12 times, hold it for 30 seconds and put it back in, and put the screws back on. This one is a no brainer even for an amateur like myself

+1 there really does not need to be a DIY for this.
