My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.

65829205177 should work as well as it's for aE60 and E70 etc, mainly you need the controller to have the external shape as seen. I've seen a few that have a flange or large tab on the side of the controller., I imagine this is for a specific model. I know E70 uses only the two, NAV & MAP. There are several part numbers that were brought in over ther years though, but the function from how we see it is basically the same.

great thanks for the link for the controller and for the explanation, i was a little scared to order the wrong controller.
cant wait till its here so i can install it and let it be coded.
i will let you guys know how it went.
