No chrome on the Bimmers please! It's kinda like a gold rope chain on a 50 year old guy with a hairy chest in a new corvette....it just not 1984 anymore

The designers of the factory wheels designed the contours for the silver finish not chrome. Thus, when they are chromed, they don't look as good. If you want chrome, find wheels that were designed to look good in chrome from the start.

I cross posted this question on another site too since I'm trying to get more opinions.

What are your thoughts on chrome wheels on BMW's? I was thinking of getting my stock wheels (BMW style 124) chromed but I rarely see any BMW's with chrome wheels. I see tons of Mercedes with chrome wheels but no BMW's.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Henry

Please no chrome on BMW, especially chromed factory rims. Polished with stainless lip is about as flashy as I would try.

going against the grain here... personally, i like the chrome. i only have the factory 123 18" chromes, but i love them to death. i also think the chrome 124s would look nice on your car, be different.

Well, I was thinking of doing the same thing. Its time for new tires and I was going to change my stock 124 to the chrome replicas 124. After all the comments, I am now going to go with an aftermarke brand. My first choice now are the Beyern Mesh rims. I'm also going to jump up from 18" rims to 19". I just need to make up my mind on what front and rear tire sizes to go with. (Front 245/35 Rear 275/30)
