I would appreciate if owners with chipped diesel cars could share their experience with
the sound of diesel before and after... Any change in particular in the sound in the idle mode?

My Ride: 2011 520dA coming up.
When I sat in SG535D's car during a cruise on the Nurnburgring I told him that his car was definately quieter than mine. But he has more miles and a sedan (mine's a touring)
My volkswagen (sad but true) was chipped and made an even rougher sound. So, can't help you very much with this, sorry.
My guess is still that a remap or chip will make it louder.
One thing is for sure: we got the best sounding (6) cilinder diesel on the market remapped or not.
Did I mention driving a volkswagen? Try one of the TDI's and you know how rough a diesel can be.

I had mine done a couple of weeks ago, by Heinz (Aalst, Belgium).
I am not sure whether it has something to do with the tuning, but I have the impression that the engine is running even a bit smoother than a couple of months ago. This may have to do with the fact that it's a new car, so with the engine being run in, I guess this is a bit normal.
What I am sure off though is, that it is even more fun driving now with the extra torque/HP.
Heinz did a good job and they were very friendly.
The car has also become a bit less thirsty, about 0.3l/100km. I found this out during a brief test period...gone higher again now because it is more tempting to use that extra torque of course...

What I am sure off though is, that it is even more fun driving now with the extra torque/HP.
Heinz did a good job and they were very friendly.
The car has also become a bit less thirsty, about 0.3l/100km. I found this out during a brief test period...gone higher again now because it is more tempting to use that extra torque of course...

Thanks for opinions mates. Just a bit dissapointed that from Sept 530D cars are more quiet distinct from 535D ones 
and was playing with an idea of chip just for this sake.

Chip it! It is more quiet in normal driving, but sound comes more harsh when You really push the car. And when You have chipped it You really want to push it!
