I am looking for the wiring pinouts for the oem rgb signal going in the original screen to wire it to the rgb input of me new 7" touch screen so I can get my iDirve back. I have the wire coming from the back of the head unit but cant find the pinouts anywhere.

help much appreciated.

dont you need to load software to use a touchscreen with a computer? im sure its the same way with your lcd screen you're trying to install....

and what do you mean by "so I can get my iDirve back" ??? if your idrive is down i dont think it has anything to do with the screen....

i think what you're trying to do is close to impossible... also the original screen is so far away from the driver's position it would be uncomfortable to use... no?

i would love to see some pics of what you're trying to do

The touchscreen is installed for use with a carputer as my primary source of entertainment but I still want to be able to revert to the original idrive menu for car settings / reverse sensor display etc. My idrive is not down, I just simply cant see the idrive image on the new screen as the idrive video signal cable has yet to be reconneced to the new screen. Hence the need for idrive signal pinouts for retrofitting to the new screen.

And nope, the screen is not too far away as to be uncomfortable when using the touchscreen function, I was worried it would be but once installed its acceptable to use.

The screen is a CTF700-H http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/601
I removed the internals of the screen and inserted the into the housing of the oem screen. A bit of a squeeze but it worked. Then I removed the 6cd changer and removed all its internals and inserted a miniitx mainboard and 80gb hard drive and placed it back into the cd changer holder. connected it all up and installex windows xp and Roadrunner frontend. You can see the screen image is excellent.

Plenty more to do yet but promising so far.
I am moving house this weekend but when I have a few mins I will take more pics of the mods and post em.
