ah so if I have NAV + US Spec'ed car = No Carx?

I found this

Also why couldn't I just take the battery out of the laptop, then it would basically just be a carpc...right?

Yes you could connect the laptop to the battery, but with some CarPC the power supply is integrated (remote on) with the PC so you could shut on and off the computer with this function. With a laptop, I'm not sure how you would make it start/boot automatically?
And about the US spec. I?m not sure if there is any difference on the CANBUS from EU cars and US cars? I don?t think so, but I?m not sure. I know that US use NTSC and EU use PAL, but that should be easy to configure on the computer/Multimedia interface
