His car most likely has an M54 enging. BMS PowerBox won't work on it.

Unless making Your car unique is the most important for You or You would be happy with insignificant power gains the best cost effective option would be moving to e60 with a bigger engine. The only significant power gain you can get is ess supercharger, but for 10 grand is way overpriced imo. Like I said unless you want to be unique and drive fastest 530 in the block GL whatever you choose.

No such thing as a BMS power box for the M54 engine, which is the engine we have in our cars.

I agree with the previous comment about an S/C. For 10k your car will be unique but will still get beat by just about any other modern V-8 powered car. That's way too much money for just a power adder IMO considering that for a little more than 10k I can swap an entire LS1 drivetrain w/bigger cam and tune into my Camaro which will give me about 500hp at the wheels.

Only problem is there is no such thing as an intake for our cars that makes power - other than the RPI scoop and BMC filter. Anyone who tries to tell you different is lying or misinformed. Intakes, like the aFe (hot air intake), make you lose power in our cars. They sound good, but lose power, which for me is a no go since I was looking for MORE power, not less.

If there is a high flow OEM replacement air filter available they're a really cheap and effective way to reduce intake restriction ($40).

ESS S/C prices are way south of $10k. Shop around.

Is your 530i a manual or automatic? If it's a manual (2.93 diff. ratio) you can swap diffs with an automatic (3.46 ratio) and get a really nice performance increase for about $300 with a salvage diff.. It's called the "poor man's supercharger" and it's the best bang for the buck by far. The only reason you might not want to do it is if you want the best fuel economy and lowest rpms possible on the highway...but if that's not you it's worth considering.

550 360hp
M5 400/500hp

LOL, you're new to this forum aren't you? This is about the most mod friendly forum ever, within reason. Wanting more power isn't a bad thing, it's more about limitations of the aftermarket to mod the M54 engine that is the real problem here.

Ive learned so much already...... 10k mods are definitely out of the question for me if i had 10k I'd be putting my car up for sale and walking into BMW of manhattan to put money down on that f10 550 LOL. I know most people feel the cheaper mods give very insignificant gains but imo any gain is better than no gain in order to get that boost I'm looking for I'm willing to spend between 1000-2000.

I'm in the same situation as you bro !, Thinkin of what can I install to get more power, since there's nothing for our cars, I'm just thinking about lett it like this, since I'm not doing track race or drag, A lil boost on the streets yes its nice, but does it worth to spend 6K $ for the ess supercharge stage 2,,don't think so,,

maybe the ecu tune would be a great mod, but I don't think it gives that much difference if it's not installes with other performance mod,,

so maybe the speedbooster v2 it's the only thing gonna make a good difference for the money,,,

lol and yeah the rpi scoop is nice for the look, maybe it gives a bit more power to you car combined with a k&n air filter or a bmc filter,, but I don't think it's a big gain.

I'm thinking about the afe stage 2 cold air filter, some says it provides not loss, some says it does,, dunno what to think, but I know that I love the sound !

Do you mean Sprintbooster? That's a placebo. All that does is press the pedal (electronically) harder for you. It does not add power.
