I took the center dash out to fish the wires though for my aftermarket Sirius satellite radio and found a connector that looks just like the connector on the side of my Garmin Nuvi 660!

Can I tap into this? Or does the CC need to be reprogramed? (my car is pre-wired for satellite)

How do you wire up sattelite radio? I really want sattelite radio in my car but don't know if XM would work OK.

In my e90 330 you can tap into the shark fin IF you had sat prep. Its easy to test, just plug it in, and fire up your sat radio. If the signal is strong, it works, if not, it doesnt

The shark fin is significantly better than the ones that come supplied with sat radios.

the sirius module goes in the trunk, as does the prewiring. does your i-drive menu button have the voice recognition button next to it? does your i drive knob lose the detents when you turn the car off? if so, your car has the nav pre-wire option, and that connector is for a gps antenna.

I do not have prewiring, but want satellite. I also do not have NAV.

Do I have any satellite radio options, or am I SOL?

The satellite pre wire is in the trunk as previously stated. Just so you know the factory satellite reciever comes with 1 year paid subscription to Sirius and only costs about 550 or so including the bracket to mount it and the screws. Of course it does require programming so unless you have access to a BMW tool you will get stuck paying someone about $150 for 5 to 10 minutes of work to program it for you. Also should you decide to install it yourself, once you plug it in you have to introduce the optical lines into the loop. (The prewired optical lines in the left rear) As far as using the antenna I have not tried it yet but have had a 50% chance trying to use oem antennas from other cars.
