Well, I've been talking back and forth with some here on the boards and have run into an issue with my non-sport E60. I want to install the Eiback springs pro kit in 2 weeks and I have stock shocks, (non sport). Now, was it necessary for you guys to install shocks at the same time? Or, would installing the Eibach springs with my stock shocks end up ruining them faster or causing an unsafe driving condition, etc?

Advice would be appreciated. I'm not looking to break the bank, nor do I want a poor ride quality.

I went through a similar ordeal you have right now.

I first installed my eibach pro kit on and left the stock struts. I have a non-sport 530i.

The ride was ok, not the best, a lot of rebound and bounce.

I then got rims and decided i need performance shocks due to the bouncy nature of the car. I didn't want any rubbing or any problems.

I got shocks installed later on and wish i had installed it in one shot instead of doing twice the labor.

And my stock shocks were already worn out, and needed to be replaced too. (I have an 04 530i, and the springs were on for 8 months)

So if you want a tighter suspension and less bounce, definitely buy some performance shocks to go with your springs. It'll help in the long run.

Good luck.

Personally I wouldn't even consider lowering springs with non-sport shocks -- especially if the originals have some miles on them. The handling will suffer and you will likely be having a second install done in the future.

I replaced my shocks even with a sport package when I went with H&R springs. I think the sport package shocks would have a better chance with Eibachs, but I'd still replace them. I really like Konis (third vehicle I have put them on).

Can I get a quote for spring/shocks for my 06 530i non-sport? I am putting on 166s (245/35/19 and 275/30/19).

I too have the eibach pro-kit on my 06 530i but with stock shocks. I do find the ride a little bouncy at times but am very satisfied with the ride. will probably get aftermarket shocks later on, or maybe when someone decides to go coilovers

You can run the Eibach Springs on your stock shocks but if you plan on upgrading your shocks in the future, I recommend doing it with the spring install. That way you save on labor by having it all done under one job.
