I have a 04 545i that the Brake booster went bad.
And the weekend starts..No problem pulling the booster out but putting it back in was a learning experience.I put the master on after the booster..Dont do that I missed the tube on the back of the master because you cant get the right angle...so i took the booster back out and bolted the master to the booster and ...it went in very easy....

Now that i had to open the brake lines i needed to bleed the brakes knowing that there is air in the line.. I used a presure power bleeder.. I got some air bubbles out but the pedal is very soft...

I am going to redo the bleeding again today..
Keep you posted

I wounder if the ABS need any special needs??

Thanks Barry

..........

So i bleed the Power bleed the brakes and get inside the car ..Without starting the car i apply brake presure and they go to the floor ,start it up a little better..OK i bleed them again.better again

Now it's time to test drive ,i notice the active sterring light is on.. a little spongee...I drive it and the A/S light goes out and the pedal comes back..Sweet.

A few things that happen while doing this job...

The rear bleed very slow
the front bleed fast
not the job of doing it but the presure of the fluid that comes out..
also doing it at home ..no way to put the car up on all 4 jack stands...to many bottom pans under the car so it's one at a time..

Do you mean the pressure of the fluid escaping the bleeders when you open them?
Did you have a hose attached to direct the bled fluid into a container?

Glad you ended up with good pedal. SUCCESS!! Great job, and, thanks for sharing!

The presure coming from the bleeder was slow.and i had a small hose but not into a container..Just let in drip into a pan..

I guess I have to do the same. I replaced my booseter two weeks ago and I think my pedal is soft. I'm awaitng delivery of a pressure bleeder and a bleeder bottle. What brand of brake fluid did you use?

If you do not get the pedal feel you desire, I suggest going to the dealer and letting them bleed the system using the ABS pump. It worked for my car.

I was going to go by the Dealer today to see my buddy who works there.I will ask some ?????
I see on the ABS that it has a active sterring sticker on the side, i'll bet they are connected some how.

Did you bench bleed the Brake Master cylinder?
This would make sure there's no air on booster (attached to Master Cylinder)

As for ABS, unless you have tool to activate the ABS, you could just drive around and find some gravels and activate the ABS and come back and rebleed
