One of the car mags advertised a new product from Michelin. This product is touted to inhibit brake dust when sprayed directly on the wheels. Don't know if it works as described. I'll pick up a can and let you know.

Interesting

Michelin Brake Dust Repellent
Brake dust, the soot generated by brake pads as they wear, isn't just ugly ? it can be corrosive and can cause permanent damage if left on wheels too long. Michelin Brake Dust Repellent is the newest weapon in a car owner's auto care arsenal. With patent-pending technology not found in any other brake dust product, Michelin Brake Dust Repellent works at the molecular level to form a protective polymer barrier that prevents brake dust, dirt and grime from adhering to wheels and tires. When Michelin Brake Dust Repellent is applied regularly, wheels stay cleaner longer and future cleaning time is reduced. Each application lasts about two weeks. Michelin Brake Dust repellent is available in 15 oz. CFC-free, recyclable aerosol cans.

I bought one at Autozone, but it's crap, it doesn't work very well.

I've got the perfect brake-dust solution. Diamond Black finish on the wheels!

You cannot see any brake dust whatsoever - it completely hides it, and they look great after a week without washing. The lips do get dirty from road dirt, but they're easy to clean.
