Hey guys !!!!!!!!

Did you guys notice that the e60 or other bmw model make so much brake dust. My wheels get so dirty.

Should I change a quality aftermarket brake pads that dont make so much brake dust?

If you change the brake pads, It will void the warranty on the brakes. I've noticed that the brake dust is'nt as bad after the brakes wear in.

Its the ventilated front brakes. Notice the front spoiler air scoop inward of the fog lights, incoming air cool the rotors and blow the dust away and deposit onto the rims. IMO, they're doing what they're design to accomplish, which is cooling the brakes. Cover them(air scoop), less dust on rims but hotter brakes. Just my opinion.

Brake ducts would help to cool the brakes, but would it really deposit more dust on the wheels? It seems that the dirty wheels are just the product of dusty pads, which are a staple on most if not all BMWs.

My other cars w/o brake air cooling don't get as much brake dust on them, so the air duct observation may be true. As a matter of fact, my old 1983 320i didn't have much brake dust to even worry about it.

Where does it say in our warranty that changing the pads will void it?

btw, Try a mini california duster to dry clean your rims easily w/o water or chemicals.

As I have put in other threads, Nevr-Dull works really well. It is made to clean chrome but it works great on the wheels. It will hold good for about 3 weeks or washes. Not hard to apply and teh brake dust comes off without effort. My wheels actually look alomost new after a rain. No dust.

I think that if you want the great braking, you have to deal with the dust, or accept less efficient braking.

Talking

You call that a problem ?
Imagine the other cars that don't brake even closer as E60, that's a real problem....
