Thanks gents. Yes if you are into bright lights, these are a great mod. The HID AEs as DRLs are so bright and striking.

I think you might have your acronyms confused. AE stands for angel eyes. DRL is daylight running lights. So you're actually trying to compare PIAA's halogen bulb to John's HID (high intensity discharge) angel eyes.
Without a doubt, the HID AE's are much brighter.
