they're both great cars. its not about the money for anyone, the price difference is under 10k. it all comes down to personal preference. both are amazing cars. but.. when the v8tt does finally arrive, it will be king. period lol

I was told by my dealer that they have stopped doing Dinan flashes because of emissions issues. That information was supplied to all service managers at the dealership today. The person I talked to said that the changes created by the reflash may be illegal as far as emissions are concerned. I don't know if he is reffering to federal or state emissions. I also read the same thing on N54tech.com coming from a dealer in another part of the country.
Guys, a BMW dealer and Dinan dealer are two different things. Some are both and some are one or the other. A dealer has hardware, training and other needed investments to be a Dinan dealer, some might think its not worth the costs to sell Dinan products anymore. Just look, I'm the only 535 that has the Dinan software on this entire forum, not a great testament to potential profits for Dinan dealers.
My dealer is still a Dinan dealer and I'm sure if BMWNA required your dealers to stop selling Dinan products it would apply to everyone.

The warranty does get voided by BMW if the problems with car are caused by the Dinan upgrade and that is when the Dinan warranty kicks in. Of course, just hope there are no back and forth going on meanwhile to prove what actually caused the problem while the car sits.

Just to be fair, I have not seen any threads or heard anything to this effect but you'll never know ...
Who cares who is paying for what, if my car is covered and it gets fixed I'm happy. Dinan likes living in the gray area of BMW because it gives them a competitive advantage over their competition, which enables them to charge more for their products. Dinan wants to be the AMG of BMW.

M was always BMW, AMG was a tuner like Dinan. Don't need a flood of hate mail...

You're not the only 535 with the software.

BTW, my SA told me today that there is a Dinan update due on 5/10 to tweak the emissions.

Agreed but because of that, the Dinan dream of "being the AMG of BMW" as you say will NEVER happen.

Well there are two of us, not a lot of incentive to sell Dinan products for some dealers. BTW- Probably many more 335 are getting the software, but maybe the cheaper software from competitors.
