Can anyone tell me how I can check to see if my car is wired up for bluetooth? Do I need more than just the ULF.

According to BimmerNav, all North America vehicles are pre-wired and ready for phone and Bluetooth. There is a wire bundle on in the trunk (which I have):

Please read reviews on any vendors, including BimmerNav, before purchasing.

If your vehicle is ready for BMW Assist and has SA640 telephone preparation (wiring, and mic), it should be ready for Bluetooth. A certain BMW Center has positive feedback on providing Bluetooth retrofit units. Online vendors are also offering Bluethooth retrofit kits.
