I just bought the oem shadowline trim, I was concerned about how well the vinyl would hold up in the winter

^^^^^ for sure, go the electrical tape route in case you wanna run some LED window trim or something you'll be covered!

I ordered the matte black 3"x30 ft..honestly our trim is so small I cut it in half (basically 1.5" wide" and that was a peferct size and only used half the material, plus I bet I have half the 30ft length as well, plenty for back up. I did with the trim on the car, I think its easier to do when the trim is fixed in one position rather than trying to work around it while not fixed, plus you save the time and labor of not having to remove the trim, one of the main benefits of doing the vinyl in the first place...

I've vinyl wrapped mine twice, the first time I did it whilst on the car and after a while it started to come off.
The second time I took the trims off and it is so much better.
It is easier to wrap it underneath the trim and when positioned back on the car it holds the vinyl in place, if you live in a hot country like I do make sure you wrap the ends well because the heat will cause it to unstick and shrink and you will have visible chrome.
