Don't try the cheap methods just pay the money for the real trim. I've gone down the vinyl coverup route and its just a waste of time and money. Some can make it look ok, but you might as well pay a couple hundred so it looks solid.

I'm assuming this thread refers to the matte black shadowline. There is another option called highgloss shadowline which is essentially a piano black gloss finish. This costs around £1,000 in the UK from a stealer. Fitting is extra. But both shadowline trim variances look way better than chrome in my opinion.
