Just a heads up, as well as a confirmation that I live in a truly crappy climate. Got a Carbon Fiber trim kit awhile back off the forum and installed it myself. Unfortunately, due to my battery dying my car had to sit out at night in -40 to -45 Celsius cold. In addition to having to replace my battery, imagine the horror at opening my car the next morning and each piece of trim had "shattered". full cracks through each and every piece, destroyed!!

I'm sure no one lives in a stupid place like this, but if you have CF trim, and there's a chance it's gonna be cold, just a heads up. Thinking I'll get the overlays this time, as the "rubberized" exterior stuff I had was fine.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.. That's freaking cold!

Just get aluminum trim... I hope that wouldn't shatter.

Damn that sucks!

How do you even get to the car in that weather!?! I would freeze I'm already freezing my ass off over here in Florida and it's only like 65 degrees out

I hope the overlays don't pop off in the cold...

Cold is cold ... those temps are low enough to freeze a gremlin's bosom .

But I'm shocked that proper carbon fiber panels shatter ... heck, that's the stuff that airplanes are made of and they must endure temperature extremes that are far greater that the Arctic Express or Alberta Clipper!

Must not be OEM. I have a hard time believing BMW CF trim would do this.

I guess he had the actual trim panels when they cracked...

Yeah, wasn't the Oem trim, but it was a full trim kit not the overlays, however going to get overlays next time. Also talk to the dealership about OEM overlay
