I have a Bimmer-Tech multimedia interface and Smartview for my E60. I would like to add a rear backup camera. Do I simply need to purchase a backup camera from somewhere like ebay (this question not about the quality of the camera or precise fit of a camera from ebay)? I believe it is simply PnP, and all the technology is in the multimedia interface. Can someone confirm this?

 

Once your interface has a video input matches the camera output , should work. Most of the ebay/amazon camera have a AV Yellow Color jack output. That where I got mines
