Did you have your rotors turned or resurfaced prior to installing the pads? I'm curious as I recently purchased my 535i and the pads/rotors were replaced before I took delivery. I've put less the 500miles on the car and wondering if I could get away with just changing out the pads and seating them properly?
Didn't mean to high-jack this thread but I was looking at the Axxis pads and there has been some knowledgeable feedback on this thread.

+1 waste of money always changing rotors and brake pads at the same time.
My rotors had 47k when I changed out pads. I was satisfied with how they looked. I did not notice any unusual wear, gouging, or anything else that I believed was an issue with them, so I just changed out the pads and did nothing else. I'll probably do the full treatment the next time around, but who knows - strictly depends on how the rotors look to me. Some like to do a full change out (Rotors + Pads) every time the pads are worn . There are good arguments for doing so, but personally I've only changed out the rotors on my cars when they need changing.

I purchased my pads at Zeckhausen Racing ($63 for the fronts and $47 for the rears).

The Hawk HPS pads are much more aggressive compound. Excellent bite and it's more of a performance compound. I wasn't too happy with the noise from the HPS pads though. For similar performance and low dust, low noise features - check out the Stoptech Performance Brake Pads.
This is the most important part.
Laying down that clean transfer layer with the new brake pads is a must if you want vibration-free braking performance.
There are ton of options. Give me a call at (714) 582-3330 x 8004 and I'll be happy to explain them to you.
