Hi everybody.

I'm looking for some time now specs, how to upgrade my e61 (535dT, production 03/2005) with:

- auxillary heating: which parts exactly do I need. If I read ETK correctly I need items 1,2,6 and 7 from:
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E60/Seda...pendent_heater/

- HUD upgrade. Here I need (I presume) all of this: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E60/Seda...ead_up_display/. But...:
- would I also have to replace the dashboard, or can I just have the hole cut out where it is already marked?
- is it necesarry to replace the front glass?

As far as the HUD retrofit, it can be done but is a major project. Take a look at the following post and some of the ones that follow it:

I think you have to change the dashboard and the windscreen, because cars with HUD need a special windscreen with a foil inside the glass.
You need also everything rewired and not to mention the costs...

Yes, there is a special windshield but if you follow the link I posted above, you'll see that it's not mandatory, just recommended. As far as the cost, that's clearly an issue but the OP may have hit the lottery or something...

Regretably no lotery incomes... TNX for answers. I can get hold of a used HUD unit (300?) and based on one reply above, I need some more plastic covers and screws (according to BMW parts catalog approx. 20 ? on top). Computer must than of course also be updated and this is it. Dashboard can remain the one I have, also windshield can remain the same. There should not be any serious difference.

What about auxillary heating? Can anybody state if I stated correct parts and that there is nothing missing?

Ivano, great avatar!

It can be done and it has been done by two European members.
Hopefully I will be the third.

You can easily cut the dashboard

You can fine the part list here:

??

I don't have it yet Vekkuli.

When I will retrofit it, once installed everything obviously I will have to add the code in the FA then program, by NCS or by SSS+file.

Can't understand your reply
