My Ride: 05 530 Jet Black, Black Int., Nav, Sat, Comfort Seats, Xenon.
I am going to be ordering a 530 in a couple of weeks. The dealer told me that he can install an Aux input or Ipod interface. I use an Ipod and would prefer the Ipod setup but I want to make sure it works well.
Any suggestions? What is the approximate cost for each of these?
Thanks

My Ride: 535d Sport in Carbon Black / high gloss shadow line and beige leather / dark poplar with professional nav, bluetooth phone prep, CD changer, bi-xenon adaptive headlamps, servotronic steering, folding mirrors, heated comfort seats, TV, extended voice control and Logic 7 hifi.
I'd suggest you get your dealer to confirm they can supply a full iPod interface in writing before worrying about which choice to make!

I went with the Aux input, the Ipod was not available, and the Aux input will allow you to connect other audio outs later if necessary, like DVD or something else.
my 2 cents.

What's the difference between an Ipod setup and the aux input. Can you not connect the Ipod to the aux input. How is it different from connecting any auxilary audio source to the aux input. I understand you may not have the Ipod cradle and recharge, but I don't understand why both are not considered an aux input install.

Ipod setup would show artist/album etc on the IDrive... this is how other BMW's (not e60) work...
