For those that spout off that it'll look rice I'm guessing have never even seen 6000k+ HIDs.? They look about as opposite as you can get as those cheap bulbs.? I replaced my car headlights with some PIAA's that were supposed to look like HIDs and they have a blueish tint to them, not very bright ...very rice.?

Now I have the 6000k Phillip HID's on my Denali and they look phenomenal.? They're extremely bright and have a more deeper purple tint to them than those found on BMW's, Mercedes, etc.? IMO they look WAY better.

I've never seen anyone else with them either.? It makes my truck stand out for sure.? The few times I thought I saw them I'd say damn those lights look SWEET only to figure out once getting closer that it was my wife driving the truck.

550i,

Thanks for your input.

I have been debating for some time if it was worth the money for something that was not going to be to noticeable.

And welcome to the forum

Thanks. And you'll probably be surprised on how much different they'll look. They're also a lot cheaper than whey I bought mine about 2 years ago.

6000k HIDs look even better on the BMW or other vehicles that have the projector beam type headlights (like my Denali). The projector beam reflects the light to give it a deeper purple tint than if you had a car w/o the projector beam type headlights.

Can you share the steps/procedure to install the bulbs with everyone on this forum ??? Do you have to take the whole headlight assembly out ??

Thanks,

Hi,

You don't need to remove the headlights or front bumper! Just take off the top screews from the headlight assembly (2 or 3!). Now you can move the headlights forward with care and get space to replace the bulbs!. Unplug the factory bulbs (unclock rotate!) and place the new's one without finger contact from the glass bulbs. If it happened the bulbs will probably be damaged in short time.

Good luck

Thanks for the information. I will get the 5000K bulb because I had 6000K bulb in my Volvo 850. It is whiter but not as good as the 530i's 4200k. It could be the design of the headlight assembly. 6000K is the highest that we can go otherwise, light is only "bluer" but useless.

thx for the pics . you have taken any pics a bit on the side, not directly from the front? is it the lighting of the pics or they're so bright that make the angel eyes "disappeared" ?
