As I recall, there are a few forum members in the USA with the ACM installed successfully. I am going to do it myself shortly.

please let me know the outcome after you get it done. we will be getting out e61 next week or the following week and i would like to get this done. i am new to the e60 line, but i have been in pretty deep with mods with my e90.

I think you're better off going to an aftermarket installer - They will charge you a lot to install at BMW. I was going to install mine, but I've decided it's not worth it for me. I was going to install for movie watching and back-up cam.
If anyone is interested, I'm selling mine for $550. It's brand new, never opened.
