How would 18" look like?
The gap is probably the same. But the rims look smaller with high profile tires. I'd prefer 19" unless you're concerned about winter driving with potholes and stuff.

I just realized that you're in LA. Forget my last comment and I'd go with 19"

If i'm going w/ 19", I will put 275/35 instead of 275/30 (standard) in the rear.
That will reduce the wheel gap right, guys?

stick to recommended 275/30 in the rear. with that big of a sidewall, there may be chances of rubbing. if you want to close the gap more, Id suggest getting a drop.

IMHO, OEM wheels always look the best, somehow they just suit the cars. Also, OEM wheels don't hurt resale value like after market wheels do. This is true of customizing any car, when you go to sell it you have to find someone with exactly the same taste as you to get any real $$$ for it. Which is why I will stick to as close to OEM as possible.
I agree on the OEM wheels, BMW is one of very few manufacturers that offers some of the best looking wheel options in the industry. Rims are what always grab my attention first and often times two much "bling" can be detrimental, therefore OEM or similar always look best.
