Default Amp Harness Question

Hello,
This will be my first amp install and I'm trying to figure out what wires go where. Anyways, recently I purchased an E60 HiFi Full harness set from forum member technic and my questions are about the amp harness.
1) The amp harness kit didn't come with an LOC like this one. https://5series.net/forums/private-m...ilt-loc-99857/ I also read on another thread I don't need an LOC. https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yo...nstall-117775/ Do I need an LOC or can I connect the harness directly to the amp?

I have the US standard HiFI setup. I'm planning on using the lc6i->xd600/6 just as forum member technic advised.

2) My last question is about wiring the harness to the amp. Attached is a PDF technic emailed to me. I'm trying to understand it but I get confused. The harness I have is the same as the one in the pdf. It has 3 open ends and I also have two connectors. If I wanted power the underseat woofers with an aftermarket amp do I follow the instructions in the pdf and plug connector 1 to female jack 1 and leave ends 2 & 3 alone?

Thank you in advance.

The answer to your questions lies within post number 4 of the link you provided. To sum up, you do not need an LoC, and the wiring is in the word attachment in post number 4. Post number 22 has a good DIY.

Thank you for the clarification skrelnik and also thank you for pointing out some of the DIY attachments in the link. After rereading them I have a better idea.

I'm pretty sure the JL Audio xd 600/6 is plug play. Unplug the hifi amp and plug in the JL amp.

depending on how you like your music will determine if you need anything else, like more bass or more loudness etc.

Yeah I think it'll be a plug and play too. What I'm trying to do is power my OEM speakers using the XD600/6 and the OEM amp harness, but my question is what do I connect the XD600/6 to? I know there are two open connections on both ends of the amp harness but it seems like I would be feeding my XD600/6 high signals back into the OEM amp.

So what I have in my mind is
low level signals that go into OEM amp --> XD600/6 amp---> under seat sub woofers

but the harness connectors make it seem like
low level signals that go into OEM amp --> XD600/6 amp--->OEM amp ----> under seat subwoofer

You can completely remove the OEM amp and put it in storage. Just unplug it, plug the OEM harnass into Technic's harnass, then plug the other side of Technic's harnass into the JL xd600.

this is a 3 series DIY, same install but the amp is in a slightly different location.

Thank you for the guide. The problem I run into is my amp harness is different from the 3 series amp harness. My amp harness looks like the one in my PDF in my first post. It has two ends to connect something to and 3 inner connectors that I think I need to connect my amp to.

EDIT: I think I've figured it out. So apparently technic's harness uses the high speaker outputs from the amp instead of the line levels. His harness has open connectors that come from pin 18,16,8,6 (speaker outputs) instead of 14,13,4,3 (line level). So I think I would need an LOC. This conclusion is based off of https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yo...nstall-117775/ post 4 in page 3 of the word doc.

The LoC is for a logic 7 setup. You have the HiFi system so an LoC could be used but is not necessary. This is by far the best BMW audio thread. Check out the thread but look at post 4, that is the HiFi info. But keep reading as there is a lot of good audio info in here.
