Alufelgen SF-71 Tire Size
#1
Guys,
I've read all the Alufelgen posts and various tire size posts but have still not come to any particular conclusion. Just wondering what others have done. I just ordered a set of 19" SF-71s (8.5 x 15 et and 9.5 x 20 et). I'm looking at the following tire sizes for a 550i:
Option 1 - Standard 19" Setup
245/35/19 Fronts and 275/30/19 Rears
Option 2 - A Little Fatter in the rear (Rim Protection)
245/35/19 Fronts and 285/30/19 Rears
Option 3? Any one done anything else with this setup that has worked well?
Thanks in advance!

hey that was my threat and you copied pasted it!
In any case, i went with 245/35 and 275/30, just like other gzillion peeps recommended.
I put on 10mm spacers in the rear too, now they're as pushed out as they get without rubbing. I got 1 finger gap all around too on KW v2s.
I think you can get away with 285/30 in the back, without spacers at all.
What finish did you get for the SF71s?

Sam,
I saw your thread, but never heard how you ended up. Thanks for the reply! I got Hyper Black and will snap some shots when I get everything on. I'm thinking I'll be fine with 285s but would love to hear from someone who has done it. How is protection on the 275s? Do you have any curb protection or would a 285 be better? How do you like your wheels?

The 275 fits the 9.5 real well. It's definitely the way to go if you're gonna push out the wheels further with spacers. If you're sticking with et20 without spacers, then it's definitely safe to go 285 in the back, never gonna rub for sure.
I got 10mm spacers, and the rear rubs very2 lightly and it doesn't leave any mark on the tire sidewall, but I really hated how the stance looked when I took the spacers off. So I took the car to a local suspension workshop and had them roll the innermost fender lip (note that our rear lip has two surfaces, horizontal and inner diagonal - make the diagonal become vertical). That gave me the additional 3mm gap that I needed to clear the tires.
I think this is the optimum stanceworks solution without completely rolling the fenders. I'm at ET10 in the rear now, much much better than the M6 offset rears, hehe.

I'm interested in these wheels. However, almost every picture of them on the net seems heavily photoshopped. If you guys have some decent quality real world pics of these wheels I would like to see them. Thanks in advance!
